IHRICON organized an Orientation Program on Conflict Management and Peace Building, Human Rights Reporting, National and international human rights law, UNSC Resolution 1325, CEDAW and CRC to the DMPVs and CPVs. This orientation programme enabled the participants to:
- Train members of the Community Peace Group as local peace agents
- Work as mediators to resolve any social/political conflicts at the local and District level.
- Analyse the situation which is driving local communities towards conflict and social disharmony and activate society to take corrective measures as early as possible
- Prepare and publish news articles with special perspective on women, children and victims rights
- Work as the local human rights watchdog
- Organize and facilitate community meetings
- Provide inputs into the conflict resolution process at a local level
- Conduct and participate in different income generating activities as required
- Distribute assistance obtained from IHRICON to victims of the conflict and the violence
