Name : Ms. Shobha GautamDesignation : Founder President/Chairperson Email : shobha.gautam@gmail.com Profile: Shobha Gautam is a journalist and women's rights activist who has written extensively on women who have been affected by conflict situations and has been advocating for the rights of women for the past twenty-two years. She is President of the Institute of Human Rights Communication in Nepal (IHRICON), General Secretary, Nepal Press Institute (NPI), Core group member, South Asia Peace Alliance (SAPA), coordinator, SAPA-media and Executive Member of Nepal's Citizen Peace Commission. Ms. Gautam has worked with the South Asia Women's Institute for Peace Studies as well as with International Alert as a National Consultant on "UN Security Council Resolution 1325: Women, Peace and Security in Nepal." Her work as the Organizer and Coordinator of a research program on women's participation in politics was instrumental in having all major political parties sign the Declaration on Enhancing Leadership of Women in Major Political Parties. Ms. Gautam is also a senior media, peace and gender trainer, providing training to journalists all over the country on conflict, gender issues and human rights reporting. Shobha Gautam has authored Women and Children in the Periphery of People's War, Study of Women Living in Conflict Situation in South Asia, co-authored "Women, War and Peace in South Asia" and co-edited "Women in Nepalese Media" and "Gender and Armed Conflict," published by McGill University Canada. In 2005, Ms. Gautam received the "Krishna Mohan - Nudup Peace Award" for playing a leading role in raising awareness of the role of women in carrying out good governance and peace work in Nepal. |

Kapil is also a senior media, peace and gender trainer, providing training to journalists all over Nepal on conflict resolution, the principles of UNSCR 1325, gender issues and human rights reporting. He prepared the "Peace Journalism" Training Manual, "Peace Module" for school teachers, "Women Peace and Security" Training Manual, "Democracy and DDR Process" Training Manual. He has also written "Susam Chandika", novel on gender equality and the people's movement for the democracy, "Patrakarita.khoj" (Journalism & Investigation), "Chitragupta", Collection of short satire essays that promote the rule of law and good governance and "Ek Samsadko Antya" a collection of short stories about the demise of Parliamentarian. Kapil is well traveled both nationally and internationally. He has visited several villages across 60 of the Districts in Nepal. He has also participated at many different international seminars and training events in USA, China, India, Denmark, Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Tunisia and Qatar. His role in peace education ha played a vital part in uplifting the society and country as well as to motivate the people to live happily and peacefully. |
Name : Ms. Anita BistaDesignation : Program Manager Email : anitabista@gmail.com Profile : Ms. Anita Bista holds an MBS degree with specialization in Finance. She is capable in maintaining books of accounts as well as forecasting financial requirements of an organization. Further, she is proficient in internal auditing of the organization. She is also competent in preparing qualitative and quantitative proposals for various funding agencies. Her skill to coordinate programs is also mention worthy. She had facilitated trainings at community level as a resource person on human rights, women rights, child rights, UNSCR 1325, Madhesi women in CA and gender. She is also competent in preparing and presenting slides through multi media projector. She had undertaken trainings on Good Governance, financial and administration management, TOT on Advocacy, proposal writing, TOT on peace education which help in her personal as well as official performance. These trainings help in the individual capacity building which ultimately assist in the organizational development. Hence, she is executing both work of Program and Account Management. |
