Protection of child rights at the time of Armed Conflict & The Role of the Security forces - Training Manual - 2005

IHRICON conducted training on the Protection of Child Rights and the role of the security forces at the time of the Armed Conflict within Nepal with the support of Save the Children Norway/Human Rights Promotion Centre, Government of Nepal. IHRICON conducted a 3 day orientation programme for the security forces in Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Lamahi and Bhalwang in Dang, Silgudi in Doti, Martadi & Kolti in Bajura. The training manual sets out what was delivered to the security forces during the three days of orientation.

The book is useful as it gives information about children’s rights. It played an important role in helping to inform the security force about the different aspects of children’s rights. It pointed out why it was important to stop all kinds of violations against children in Nepal as well as all over the world where countries have also had a high level of suffering as a result of conflict and violence. The Training manual covered Human Rights, Human Rights Declaration of 1948 and other National and international Child Laws, Acts and Conventions.
